Getting Started with MobiVTT
MobiVTT syncs your FoundryVTT D&D 5e character sheets to any mobile device in real-time. This guide walks you through setup in about 5 minutes — no technical knowledge required.
For Players
Your Game Master will share a URL with you. Here's what to do:
- 1. Open the URL in your phone or tablet browser
- 2. You'll see your D&D 5e character sheet
- 3. No app to install, no account to create
- 4. The page updates automatically every 15 seconds as your character changes
That's it! You're ready to play.

Detailed Step-by-Step Setup
1 Get Your Access Code
Visit /signup and choose your plan:
- • Forever-Free Plan: 2 characters, no credit card needed
- • Basic Plan: 5 characters per world
- • Premium Plan: Unlimited characters
You'll receive an 18-character access code instantly. Save it — you'll need it in Step 4.
2 Install the MobiVTT Module
Open FoundryVTT and follow these steps:
- a. Click Add-on Modules (left sidebar)
- b. Click Install Module
- c. Paste the manifest URL below
- d. Click Install

The installation may take a minute or two. You'll see it appear in your modules list once complete.
3 Enable the Module
- a. Start your game world (the world that contains your characters)
- b. Click Manage Modules from the scene menu or settings
- c. Find MobiVTT and check the box
- d. Click Save
4 Enter Your Access Code
- a. Click Configure Settings (gear icon, top-left)
- b. Go to Module Settings
- c. Find MobiVTT and paste your access code
- d. Click Save
✓ You should see a success notification. The module is now ready to sync characters!
5 Share Character Sheets
- a. Open any actor (character) sheet
- b. Look for the "Copy Character Sheet Mobile Page" button at the top of the sheet
- c. (On some Foundry/D&D5e version combos, this button may be in a menu — look for ⋮ or similar)
- d. Click it to copy the URL, then share it with your player

Troubleshooting
I don't see the copy button on the character sheet
Solution: Check your FoundryVTT and D&D 5e system versions. MobiVTT works with:
- • FoundryVTT v13 with D&D 5e v5.0.x+
- • FoundryVTT v12 with D&D 5e v4.4.x
On some combinations, the button may be hidden under a menu (⋮). Check the actor sheet menu.
The character sheet isn't updating on mobile
Checklist:
- • ✓ Double-check your access code in Module Settings
- • ✓ Make sure sync is enabled on the actor in FoundryVTT
- • ✓ Refresh the mobile page
- • ✓ Check that FoundryVTT itself is still running and your world is active
I see an error on the mobile page
Solution: Make sure your FoundryVTT server has internet access. The initial character data sync requires your Foundry instance to reach MobiVTT's API. This is a one-time verification—after that, updates flow continuously.
I can't find the Module Settings option
Solution: With your game world running:
- • Click the ⚙️ Settings button (gear icon, top-left)
- • Select Configure Settings
- • Go to Module Settings tab
- • Look for MobiVTT in the list
